Day 6 - Sick in Paris
I KNEW I should have brought my z-pack with me..but since I had to go through the whole trying to get a label on it.. I just left it back home. ug. Bad decision. So, I'm stuck with a running nose. A cough. Feeling miserable.
But, this all didn't let up on the whole seeing Paris.
First off we went to Notre Dame. Thank goodness there wasn't any renovations going on. And the inside seems a bit different than it did 10 years ago. We tried to wait in line to go up the Tower but since our Museum Pass didn't let us bypass any lines AND the line (even though not that long) was going WAY too slow... we decided to skip it. Oh well.. there goes seeing Paris from Notre Dame's gargogyle's view.
Since D was freezing his @ss off. We got him a nice looking trenchcoat. Not bad for 40 euros.
Then off to the Louvre. Even though its freezing, I'm glad the lines aren't too long. We actually went through the main entrance through the glass pyramid. Yea, for it not being busy touristy time. I wish I remembered all my CORE art history HS lectures. But, it was delightful seeing the painting that I once learned so much on. D didn't think we were taking it easy...but for how big the Louvre is... I got my thrill.
Again we got lost trying to find the Musee D'Orsay. Nothing seems to be easy for D and I. But we eventually found it...and I loved that too. I didn't get a chance to see this museum last time. So it was equally as nice seeing all the Impressionist work. Again things that I had learned back in HS.
By this time, we were both hungry and tired. So we headed back towards our hotel.
But, one last stop at Napoleon's Tomb and the Army Museum. I thought D would enjoy this alot. Last time, I only got to see the tomb but not the rest of the museum. Very interesting and thorough museum (according to D). But, because the museum was closing.. D didn't get to see the rest of the museum. I think that's just bullsh!t because if you paid an entrance fee they should at least let you roam around and see it all... like close ticket sales at 5pm but have the museum open for those that paid until 6pm. It's only right.
