What's Left To Say?
A few weeks ago at D&A's Wedding in Vegas, R casually said that his wife had to have some tests.
Back-story: About 2 or 3 years ago, M was diagnosed with breast cancer but survived it after chemo/radiation and having a masectomy.
She's a super sweet person. A survivor. R's true soulmate. The person that calms him down.
A few tests turned into a diagnosis of her having only six months to live.
I couldn't believe it when he told me this.
What do you tell a person or how do you make someone feel better after they've been told something like this??
All I could think of saying is that she'll make it through... that doctors could be wrong all the time.
The worst is when he was telling me that he was thinking about how he's slept with the same woman next to him for the last 29 years. How weird that's going to feel when she's not there anymore.
That was the saddest thing to hear. I can't even imagine. It almost feels worst knowing that you only have X amount of time to live. Like it's a blessing and a curse. A blessing in that you won't take anything for granted. A curse that you know the end is near.
