yeesh!

it's been a while since I last posted!! It's been crazy busy during the last month and a half. As a fast recap, we came back from Europe and D got into the groove of trying to make our home a better place. He had everything in line... fix our leaning chimney, get our rain gutters replaced and fixed, correct the grading problem.

And then... as always is the case.. there was a hiccup.

We couldn't just do a regular repair on the chimney... due to the way the wood looked... we had to do a complete rebuild of the chimney. ug. More money out the door. *sad face* and everything that D had started... went out the door.

It's close to our one year in our house and we still haven't gotten comfortable in it. We've had buyers regret since Day One. And this whole experience has been very stressful. We've had love/hate. But, when will be happy in this home??

We also have a new addition to our family. Snacks.

I really thought D wanted a dog. And he thought I really wanted a dog. In my head, its really D's dog. But I still take care of the lil white rat. We saved her from the shelter... just when her owners were about to surrender her to the shelter.. we made a quick decision to adopt her. We managed to get Petco groomers to give her a bath and haircut. And we brought her home. Even after a lil over a month, she still has separation anxiety. She doesn't follow us around as much... she's able to sleep in her crate and sit outside... But as soon as she knows that D and I are leaving.. oh the howling and whining can be heard from outside the house.

But otherwise, she's a good girl. She hasn't pooped or peed in the house.. she's very capable of holding it in until she's outside. She's still a lil spastic when we take her on walks. But, the this past weekend she's been good with our friend's dog.

We have taken her to Petco dog training classes...which the only thing we like is that she's able to meet up with other dogs on a regular basis.

So, that's our life. Still working on this house and working on the dog.
