Security Basket & X-mas Cards

Step 6: Build Your Security Basket

Safeguard #1: Set aside a cushion of cash

I know I have money set aside.. but I haven't exclusively labelled it as my 'security basket' in case something happens.. like me losing my job.

Safeguard #2: Both of you absolutely MUST write a will or set up a living trush

Definitely don't have this.

Safeguard #3: Buy the best health coverage the two of you can afford

I think both of us have great health coverage.

Safeguard #4: Protect those who depend on you with life insurance

I guess I'm going to have to make up a check list. I'm not sure about whether I have life insurance. And if I don't..maybe I'll just sign up for it after Dan and I get married. I think that's the time when enrollment changes occur.

Safeguard #5: Protect yourselves and our incomes with disability insurance

Probably the same as the first one.

Safeguard #6: If either of you is in your sixties, it's time to consider long-term care coverage

No application for Dan and I.

***********

I always tell myself that I'm not going to send out christmas cards... but I end up doing it. I guess it's the guilt of once I get someone else's christmas card... well, it just means that I have to give them one too. I actually like the thought of sending e-cards out more than sending thru snail mail christmas cards. I guess my whole rational behind the e-card is that once I receive someone else's christmas card thru snail mail... I basically read what they write and then throw it in the trash. Some ppl don't even personalize their christmas card.

I usually take some time out to think what I write. Kinda personalize it. It usually takes more time..but I like that. Maybe that's why I sent out only 20 cards this christmas...and the rest I spammed e-cards at.

Yeup. My usual babble.
