Hurricane Katrina

wow.

I haven't had any free time to sit and watch the news about what's going on down in New Orleans until tonite. Geez. There are some crazy stories and crazy images.

The last time I was down there was about two years ago for the ASHP meeting. In the daytime, we hung out at the convention center and at nite, we went down to the French Quarter.



Now look at it...

Thousands of stranded Orleanians. No food. No water. Looting. Weirdos running around with guns. People dying or already dead. Feces everywhere. You just know it's just a matter of time before there's some kind of disease outbreak.

Apparently, CHLA sent out an email asking for hospital staff (doctors, nurses, etc) to volunteer to head over there. The only person I know from the pharmacy dept to reply back is Suzanne. I never got the email.

Poor New Orleans. I'll probably donate some money thru the Red Cross to help out. *sigh*
