Early Mother's Day
Mother's Day isn't until May but it felt like Mother's Day to me.
D came up to me and said that on Friday night he wanted me to sleep upstairs and he would take care of the baby during the night. He was giving me the night off! YAY! Taking care of the lil one 24/7 is very tiresome. The last time I got a good nite's rest was before the baby was born...now I get at most 2-3hr periods of sleep. Of course, in the back of my head was that I would still have to pump in the middle of the nite.. but just the thought that I could just do that task without having to feed the baby and change him and put him back to bed was a bit of a relief.
The baby has actually been a bit better at sleeping.. there were a couple of nites that he woke up once in the evening...and there was once that he went 6hrs straight. I was hoping D would have a good nite.. but of course B decided to wake up at least once in the middle of the nite.
On Saturday.. D had scheduled a massage for me. I've been on baby mode that it was hard for me to think of taking a break and just relaxing. I just keep thinking of the next thing I have to do.. wash bottles, do laundry, pump, make sure that everything is just ready for the next cycle... I was happy about getting a massage but anxious that I had these other things on my mind.
The massage was just fantastic. My shoulders and neck were SO tight and the masseuse concentrated only on those areas. I came out feeling so great! Of course.. a few hours later the tension all came back.
Later in the evening, I think both D and I needed an adult beverage... I looked up Acapulco's happy hour.. and it was daily between 6-8pm. D fed and changed the baby while I pumped ...and we rushed out and got there by 7pm. B was so good. He was awake but not crying...and then he eventually went to sleep while D and I drank and ate. By the time we were done, B woke up and then started crying so we paid the bill and came home... just in time for the next feeding cycle.
On Sunday, my parents came over and its always nice to have extra pair of hands around. And my mom made banh xeo.. my fav.
All in all it was a great weekend!!
