Busy Busy Weekend.
Dan and I scouted some more lodgings up in Lake Arrowhead....we're on the same wavelength when we think that our wedding guests should either get something in Crestline or by Lake Gregory rather than Lake Arrowhead.
I did accomplish to definitely find the place that I want to stay at during our wedding. Now to convince my family to stay in the same inn... and maybe convince my bridesmaids too.
OH! Forgot to mention that my sweetie...thinking that I've been stressing WAY too much over wedding planning decided to get me a gift certificate for a massage. VERY nice gesture.. he gets several brownie points for that. It was unexpected and I could probably use it yesterday because I slept funny and I can't turn my head even today. ouch.
My mom is the greatest. We were supposed to pamper her..but she ended up making pho and all this food for us on Saturday. Hmm.. so much GOOD food. I was trying to peek over her shoulder..but I will never be a good cook like her. She even packed me up a huge bag of food to take home. heheheh...
and she loved my gift. I think I did very good this year. Since my parents are going off to the 'Holy Land' in June.. what better gift than this:
Saint Christopher is the Catholic Patron Saint of Travel Safety. Although I think he may have been demoted.... there's still alot of ppl who have faith in him. He's always depicted as a tall, middle-aged, bearded man with a staff who wades across a river carrying the Christ child on his shoulders. As the story goes, Christopher devoted his life to carrying people across rough stream. So, one day a little child appeared before him and asked to be carried across. To Christopher's surprise, as he went across the river, the child steadily increased in weight until Christopher found his tiny burden so heavy that it was amost impossible to bear. When he asked the holy babe why he weighed so much, the child replied that he carried the world's sins upon his shoulders. As a reward for his service, Christopher's staff was miraculously transformed into a living tree, and Christopher himself became the Patron Saint of travellers.
