One Month and Ten Days Later...
Haven't had the time to really sit down and mentally vomit my thoughts into a post. And now it seems even silly to think back and write about our honeymoon in Costa Rica. The album that I made should be arriving today and D did a perfect post about our adventures.
I've been trying to change my hours at work so there's some normalcy to home life... I'll check back in with the managers to see if my request will be fulfilled.
We've put an offer on a house. Got accepted by the buyer. Needs to be accepted by her lender... so that's still in process. It's all exciting yet very scary. Very scary. There's a whole different commitment level to it especially when there's a huge chunk of our savings going to it.
So, with that comes the end of the year report... Although it's 3 weeks before the end of the year.. I might as well do it now before I forget.
My Goals for 2007
* Had a beautiful Dam Hoi AND wedding AND fun honeymoon. The wedding was a HUGE feat especially with everything that occured right before it. It turned out more beautiful and possibly even cheaper than the original wedding we had planned. Go figure.
The wedding budget was $15,000. We did go over but not over $20K which was our limit. Yay!
But if we did lump the Dam Hoi and Wedding and Honeymoon together.. we did go over $20K but not by much.
* I have now contributed $3999.96 to my IRA. Why the odd number? Well, I just automatically did the $333.33/month. And I forgot to change this month's withdrawal to include the four cents. oh well. I'll still check that off the list as completed. *smile*
* Saved for all the weddings I've attended this year. Jimmy's wedding got postponed til next year. Next year's wedding are lining up... DF's, JL's, , L&T's, TT's. So that's four... and some that haven't officially set their dates.
* 401K contribution of $15,500. A couple of paychecks ago I met my maximum contribution goal. So, now that I'm married.. need to figure out how we're doing our contribution for next year... especially with a new house in the works.
* Mutual Fund contribution - still putting in $300/month. I'll have to discuss with the husband about if I can still contribute. This was actually one of the most profitable investments I made all year. I almost want to sell off those stupid stocks I bought...those were a BIG mistake. But this mutal fund was great!
* Still haven't broken into my Emergency fund. And need to figure out where to place it now that it's going to mature in a few days.
* Paid off high interest student loan. I still have my low interest one.. and by the end of next month.. the interest rate on that one will go down 1% because I've been on time with the payments. yay!
* House deposit fund. We did manage to save 10% down payment on the house and the savings account looks awful now. boo. I'm going to have to figure out ways to fatten it back up.
SO! In essence, I have definitely completed all my financial and home goals for 2007. Now, have to start on the 2008 list. *sigh*
